Hello, and welcome!

It's a running joke that I, Yáng Wěi (杨伟), was destined to start this school here in Yáng County (洋县). Being 'Yang from Yang' has led to some interesting conversations, to say the least.

But the new coincidence is even better than the old one. My surname, 杨 (Yáng), means ‘poplar tree.’ The 'Yáng' (洋) in our county's name means ‘ocean.’

This feels perfect, because learning Mandarin is a lot like exploring a vast, magnificent ocean. At first, you might feel lost in its depth—the thousands of characters, the unfamiliar tones, the rich culture. But with the right guide, you learn to navigate it. You discover the incredible beauty hidden beneath the surface.

My goal is for this academy to be your sturdy ship and your trusted map for this journey. We are here to help you explore the depths of this wonderful language, to find your confidence, and to discover the great (伟, Wěi) and magnificent things it will bring to your life.
